Pontotoc Technology Center (PTC) has once again been recognized as one of America’s Top Vocational Schools in the national rankings released by USA TODAY in partnership with Statista, a leading global market research firm.

Marking the second annual release of the nationwide list, the recognition highlights PTC’s continued leadership in providing high-quality, career-focused training that equips students to meet the evolving demands of today’s workforce. USA TODAY and Statista evaluated institutions using five key performance indicators: graduation rates, graduate earnings, years required to pay off net costs, social mobility, and diversity.

“Being named among the top vocational institutions in the country for 2026 is a true testament to the relentless work of our instructors, staff, and students,” said Travis Graham, Superintendent of Pontotoc Technology Center. “As the modern economy places an even greater emphasis on technical proficiency and hands-on capability, PTC remains committed to opening doors to rewarding, sustainable careers in essential industries.”

The honor comes as technical and vocational education continues to see powerful momentum nationwide. According to recent data cited by USA TODAY from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, enrollment in high-vocational programs jumped by nearly 38% between Spring 2021 and Spring 2026, significantly outfacing traditional four-year degree programs as students seek high-yield, cost-effective pathways into the job market.

PTC offers a wide array of programs designed to serve high school students and adult learners alike, including healthcare, biotechnology, cosmetology/barbering, automotive technology, HVAC, heavy equipment operation, information technology, and welding. Specialized career academies—such as Electrical, Paramedic Training, Lineworker, and Firefighting—continue to provide direct pipelines into high-demand, well-paying careers throughout Oklahoma and surrounding regions.

“Our mission goes far beyond teaching trade skills—we empower our students with the confidence, credentials, and real-world experience needed to power our local infrastructure and economy,” Graham added.
