Enrollment Procedures
High School Students  from district partner schools may attend tuition free. Contact your local high school counselor for enrollment information or call PTC Student Services at 580-310-2250.

Partner School Districts are: Ada , Allen , Byng , Latta , Roff , Sasakwa , Stonewall , Tupelo , and  Vanoss .

Adult Students are admitted according to space in the career major. Some career majors are adult only such as the Practical Nursing career major, which has separate admission procedures and length of course. Most career majors are 1050 clock hours and begin in August and conclude in May of each year.  Occasionally there are a few openings and admission is made at the beginning of a new quarter. Please follow the procedures outlined below to be considered for admission.

 

Admission

To help with proper placement and to meet ability-to-benefit guidelines, all applicants will be required to participate in assessment through the Assessment Center or provide evidence of such assessment conducted elsewhere. To request an Admission Packet that covers each step of the admission process, please call Student Services 580-310-2250. Admission packets may also be picked up in the Student Services office or printed by clicking this link. 

Financial Aid

Many adults need to find out about available financial assistance prior to making a decision toward career major application. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the Financial Aid Specialist at 580-310-2223. Pontotoc Technology Center is approved to offer the following federal Title IV and state financial aid to those who qualify and are enrolled and admitted in most career majors.

Class Hours

Full time day courses are offered from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and 12:00 Noon to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. High School students choose either a morning session or an afternoon session to attend. Adult Students can attend both sessions if there is space available. Pontotoc Technology Center follows a public school calendar year and has breaks and holidays that are common to are area Partner Schools. Any variations in the schedule  must be cleared with the Director of Instructional Services and the Director of Student Services. Each student receives a school calendar and student handbook at the time or orientation.


Use your time in high school to learn career skills that will prepare you for a well paying, respected career. Even if you plan to go to college after high school, having employable skills can get you a better job with more pay to help fund college expenses!
