The Cosmetology career major covers all areas of hair and salon management and prepares students for employment as salon-stylists, nail technicians, skin care specialists/estheticians, hair color specialists and many other specialty areas. The career major will be a two-program with two class sessions offered. The course is open to secondary (high school) students and adults. Instructional procedures include hands-on training, viewing video and multimedia presentations, guest speakers, participating in lecture/discussion forums, small groups activities, demonstrations, and team training. After completion of this program, a student will have acquired the following skills:
