The Cosmetology career major covers all areas of hair and salon management and prepares students for employment as salon-stylists, nail technicians, skin care specialists/estheticians, hair color specialists and many other specialty areas.

The career major will be a two-program with two class sessions offered. The course is open to secondary (high school) students and adults. Instructional procedures include hands-on training, viewing video and multimedia presentations, guest speakers, participating in lecture/discussion forums, small groups activities, demonstrations, and team training.
The program is designed to prepare the student to take an Oklahoma State Board exam and become a licensed Cosmetologist upon completion of required hours. Student will be provided a variety of hands-on training in a salon environment, allowing students to practice skills while working on the public under an instructor's supervision.

After completion of this program, a student will have acquired the following skills:
